South Korea's money supply growth increased marginally in June, preliminary figures from the Bank of Korea showed Wednesday. M2, a broad measure of money supply, rose 6.1 percent year-on-year in June, following a 6.0 percent increase seen in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted basis, M2 advanced 0.7 percent in June from the prior month, driven by transferable savings deposits and short-term money in trust. M2 covers currency in circulation, demand deposits and deposits with a maturity of less than two years. At the same time, the liquidity aggregate L indicator, surged 7.4 percent yearly in June, slower than May's 7.7 percent increase On a seasonally adjusted basis, L money supply gained 0.5 percent from May.
