The Reserve Bank of Australia will on Tuesday release the minutes from its July monetary policy meeting, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. At the meeting, the RBA maintained its benchmark cash rate at 2.50 percent. Australia also will see June figures for new motor vehicle sales; in May, sales were up 0.3 percent on month and down 2.0 percent on year. The Bank of Japan will release its monthly statement on monetary policy, and also provide its target for monetary base. Also on tap are June numbers for machine tool orders and Tokyo condominium sales; in May, they were up 34.2 percent on year and down 13.4 percent, respectively. Singapore will see May figures for retail sales, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 0.1 percent on month and a decline of 10.5 percent on year.
